GNOC appoints Ebrima Jeffang as Chef de Mission for Dakar 2026

Banjul The Gambia, April 10, 2026 – The Gambia National Olympic Committee has officially appointed Ebrima Jeffang as Chef de Mission (CDM) for the upcoming Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
The appointment marks a significant step in the country’s early preparations for the global youth sporting event, which will bring together thousands of young athletes from across the world. As Chef de Mission, Jeffang will be responsible for overseeing Team Gambia’s participation, ensuring smooth coordination, athlete welfare, logistics, and overall team performance throughout the Games.
A seasoned sports administrator and the second vice president of Gambia Handball Association, Jeffang is expected to bring leadership, experience, and strategic direction to the role as The Gambia looks to make a strong impression on the international stage. His selection reflects GNOC’s confidence in his ability to guide and support young Gambian athletes during one of the most important events in their sporting careers.
The Youth Olympic Games in Dakar will be the first time the event is hosted on African soil, making it a historic milestone for the continent.
With preparations now underway, the GNOC continues to reaffirm its commitment to ensuring that Team Gambia is well-prepared, competitive, and ready to represent the nation with pride at Dakar 2026.
