Gambia U18 Beach Volleyball teams secures 2026 World Championship qualification

Banjul The Gambia, April 1st 2026 – The Gambia’s rising dominance in youth beach volleyball has been reaffirmed, as both the boys’ and girls’ U18 teams have earned qualification for the 2026 FIVB U18 Beach Volleyball World Championship to be held in The Netherlands in July.
The qualification follows Gambia’s outstanding performances at the 2025 CAVB U18 beach volleyball championship held in Abuja where Gambian men team secured gold and the girls securing 7th.
This achievement continues Gambia’s impressive trajectory in youth beach volleyball. In previous competitions, the boys demonstrated their strength by defeating top African opponents to secure automatic qualification, highlighting the nation’s growing competitiveness internationally.
The upcoming world championship will bring together the best young talents globally, with teams from across all continents competing for honors in what is considered one of the premier youth events on the international volleyball calendar.
For The Gambia, this qualification is more than just participation, it reflects years of investment in youth development, supported by international programs and strong local structures. The continued success of these young athletes signals a bright future for Gambian volleyball on the world stage.
