The World Must Resist Fascism in the United States

Today, people across the United States are rising in the ‘No Kings Day’ protest – a powerful citizen uprising against the creeping fascism represented by Donald Trump and his authoritarian regime. This is not just an American struggle. The consequences of tyranny in the United States will be global. Therefore, this is a matter for all humanity.

The United States is not an isolated country tucked away from the world. It is a global superpower with vast political, economic, and military influence. Whatever happens in America reshapes the world, for better or worse. Since its founding in 1776, the U.S. has exerted enormous power, too often through anti-democratic interventions, coups, wars, and economic domination. Many societies have been destabilized by U.S. imperial policies that violated international law, sovereignty, and destroyed lives.

Given that history, allowing the U.S. to now descend into full-blown fascism under Trump would be catastrophic not just for Americans, but for the entire world. A rogue United States under fascist control would threaten global peace, human rights, press freedom, multilateralism, and even basic democratic norms. The world cannot and must not look away.

Let us be clear: Donald Trump is not a victim. He is not a patriot. He is a conman, a corrupt demagogue, and a threat to humanity. His rogue regime is built on lies, racism, greed, and lawlessness. It has attacked democracy at home while destabilizing the world. Trump and his inner circle with individuals like JD Vance, Pam Bondi, and Pete Hegseth represent the decay of moral leadership and the rise of extremist, white nationalist ideology.

No country has benefitted more from the world than the United States. From centuries of African enslavement, to resources extracted from Latin America and Africa, to brain drain from Asia, and the profits of global capitalism, America has gained immensely from the world, not the other way around. So, when Trump claims that “the world is cheating America,” it is a lie built on arrogance and ignorance. The world has nothing to apologize for; it is America that must be held accountable.

Trumpism must be defeated, not only at the ballot box but as an ideology. Fascism must be confronted everywhere, including in the most powerful country on Earth. The fight of the courageous Americans marching today is a fight for global democracy. It is a fight for justice, equality, truth, human dignity, and freedom, values enshrined in the U.S. Constitution but betrayed by the Trump regime.

The world must not remain silent. We must stand in solidarity with the American people resisting tyranny. We must speak out against the rise of extremism and challenge the normalization of hate, propaganda, political violence, and dictatorship.

No to fascism. No to dictatorship. No to Trumpism.

Yes to democracy. Yes to freedom. Yes to humanity.
