Gambia to welcome King’s baton

It is time for The Gambia to welcome the King’s baton as excitement looms.
The 23rd edition of the Commonwealth Games will be hosted in Glasgow, Scotland, from 23 July to 2 August 2026, returning to the city 12 years after it successfully staged the 2014 Games.
Glasgow 2026 will feature a 10-sport programme across four venues within an eight-mile corridor, ensuring a dynamic broadcast schedule and a vibrant festival atmosphere for both athletes and spectators.
As part of the official build-up to the Games, the King’s Baton Relay will travel across all 74 Commonwealth nations and territories.
The Baton will be in The Gambia from 13 to 18 October 2025, providing our country with a special opportunity.
