A 31-year-old suspected serial rapist, Olarewaju Idris, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly raping two female students of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in Ijagun.
According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the suspect was arrested at a hotel in Erinwo, Ijebu-Ode, where he had allegedly taken one of his victims.
The police stated that the suspect had allegedly raped an 18-year-old female student from the Library and Information Department after meeting her at a lounge in Ijebu Ode. He allegedly abducted the teenager at knifepoint and brutally assaulted her.
Another TASUED student, a 300-level student, also reported a similar encounter with the suspect, stating that he had lured her onto a motorcycle and taken her to a hotel, where he raped her.
The suspect has been taken into lawful custody, while the victims are receiving medical attention. The police have assured that they are committed to ensuring justice is served.
This is not the first reported case of rape involving TASUED students. In October 2025 another serial rapist, Shedrack Olayemi, was arrested by the police for allegedly raping several female students of the university.
