Abubakary Jawara receives FOGECA Social and Economic Award
On February 1, 2025, The Forum of Operators for the Guarantee of Economic Emergence in Africa (FOGECA) presented the Social and Economic Development Award to Dr. Abubakary Jawara, the Chief Executive Officer of GACH Global Group, during the 17th edition of the FOGECA Awards ceremony held at a local hotel in The Gambia.
This award recognizes Dr. Jawara’s exceptional contributions to promoting social and economic growth in The Gambia and across the wider African region.
While receiving the award, Dr. Jawara expressed his gratitude to FOGECA for creating business and economic opportunities in the subregion.
He also acknowledged Gambian President Adama Barrow for fostering an environment conducive to the advancement of Gambian entrepreneurs and investors.
Dr. Jawara conveyed his appreciation for receiving such a prestigious honor, stating that it serves as a great motivation for him and for others in the philanthropic and business sectors.
Additionally, FOGECA honored oil business tycoon Hamidou Jah, the owner of Jah Oil Limited, along with President Adama Barrow, who was recognized for his contributions to Economic Integration in Africa, further highlighting Barrow’s significant role in promoting growth and economic development across the continent.
