BLACKPINK member Jisoo is preparing to release her second prerelease single, “Addicted,” on Friday, October 30, as anticipation builds for her upcoming debut full-length solo album.

The singer’s agency, Blissoo, announced the release on Tuesday, October 27, confirming that the song will be available simultaneously on domestic and international music streaming platforms at 8 a.m. Korean Standard Time.

The upcoming single follows the release of “Click” in September, which served as the first preview of Jisoo’s forthcoming album. According to her agency, “Addicted” will present a different musical direction, introducing a darker and more complex atmosphere compared with its predecessor.

The announcement has generated interest among fans, particularly as Jisoo continues to establish her identity as a solo artist while maintaining her position as a member of the globally recognised K-pop group BLACKPINK.

Ahead of the release, Blissoo launched a promotional campaign across its official social media platforms, sharing teasers from Saturday through Monday.

The campaign featured an animated logo, concept photographs and a short video offering fans an early glimpse of the new project.

In the logo animation, heart-shaped lightning flashes across a dark purple night sky before the title appears in bold, three-dimensional lettering. The visual presentation suggests a more intense aesthetic for the upcoming release.

The concept photographs also offer a glimpse into Jisoo’s new look. In the images, the singer appears partially concealed behind a shimmering curtain, with full bangs and sleek black nail polish contributing to the mysterious atmosphere.

A separate preview video gave fans a brief introduction to the song’s melody and a snippet of its choreography, further increasing curiosity about the complete track.

The promotional materials indicate a noticeable change in style from “Click,” which focused on the effortless chemistry between two people who meet by chance.

With “Addicted,” Jisoo is expected to explore a darker creative direction, although the full musical details will become clearer when the song is released.

Jisoo’s upcoming single follows the encouraging international performance of “Click,” which gained attention across several major music markets.

According to figures provided by her agency, the song entered the top 10 of iTunes charts in 43 regions and appeared on Apple Music’s Top Songs charts in 11 countries.

The performance demonstrated the singer’s continued ability to attract listeners beyond South Korea as she develops her solo career.

The release of multiple prerelease singles ahead of a full-length album is also a common promotional strategy in the competitive K-pop industry. Such releases allow artists to introduce different aspects of a project, build excitement among fans and generate international interest before the complete album arrives.

For Jisoo, “Addicted” offers another opportunity to showcase her artistic range and give listeners a clearer sense of the musical direction she is pursuing.

Since pursuing solo activities alongside her work with BLACKPINK, Jisoo has continued to build a distinct profile in the international music industry.

In 2025, she released her debut solo extended play, Amortage, marking an important milestone in her individual music career.

She subsequently collaborated with British singer Zayn Malik on “Eyes Closed,” a high-profile release that earned her a place on the US Billboard Hot 100.

These projects have helped broaden her musical portfolio beyond her activities with BLACKPINK, whose global popularity has established the group as one of the leading names in K-pop.

Jisoo’s solo releases have also given her opportunities to explore different musical styles and develop a creative identity separate from the group’s collective sound.

To promote “Addicted,” Jisoo is also expected to return to South Korean television music programmes for a series of live performances.

The appearances will mark her return to the weekly music show circuit after an extended period away from the programmes.

The performances are expected to give fans an opportunity to see the singer present the new material on stage while supporting the single’s promotional campaign.

As the release date approaches, attention will remain on how “Addicted” compares with “Click” and what the two singles reveal about Jisoo’s upcoming full-length album.

With a new visual concept, a different musical atmosphere and planned television appearances, the singer is preparing for another major step in her solo journey.

Fans will be able to listen to “Addicted” when it arrives on music streaming platforms on Friday, October 30, at 8 a.m. Korean Standard Time, according to Blissoo.

The release is expected to further shape anticipation for Jisoo’s first full-length solo album as she continues balancing her individual ambitions with her activities as a member of BLACKPINK.
