Nigeria: KieKie advises women to embrace softness

By Zuleihat Owuiye, Nigeria

Nigerian comedian and content creator KieKie has advised women to embrace softness in their relationships, saying it could encourage men to show them more affection and treat them specially.

The entertainer urged women to be gentle, exercise patience and allow their partners to take the lead in certain situations instead of insisting on handling every responsibility themselves.

In a video, KieKie questioned why some women take on tasks their partners could handle, using preparations for Christmas celebrations as an example.

“Some of you are only women on your best certificates. In your day-to-day lifestyle, attitude, and behaviour, you are not a woman. You are in the house with your man. Learn how to be soft. Learn how to wait. Learn how to be gentle,” she said.

She went on to question why some women would make arrangements for Christmas celebrations themselves when their partners were available to do so.

“It’s Christmas time, and your man is available, yet you have pinned Ram. Why? Why are you the one who has pinned the ram?” she asked.

KieKie also encouraged women to use what she described as a “puppy face” to appeal to their partners and receive affection and care.

According to her, women need to embrace softness to make this approach effective.

“You know, babies have what we call puppy face. Women, puppy face works for men. But you have to be soft for you to be able to activate your puppy face,” she explained.

The content creator further challenged women who frequently demand intentional and thoughtful partners to reflect on their own conduct in relationships.

She suggested that women should consider whether they demonstrate the same level of care and consideration they expect from the men they date.

“If you get a man, you get a man. If you didn’t get a man, you didn’t get a man. Any small thing: ‘I want an intentional man. I want an intentional man.’ I don’t know. Look at it. Are you intentional?” she said.

KieKie reiterated her message by urging women to be deliberate about how they approach their relationships.

Her comments reflect her perspective on modern relationships, particularly the importance of allowing partners to contribute and show care in their own ways.

She also explained that her advice was influenced by her positive relationship experiences and her desire to offer women a different perspective amid the often negative relationship advice circulating online.
