Veteran Nigerian entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has once again attracted attention with his unconventional fashion choice.

The entertainer appeared at the birthday celebration of businessman Dr Chidi Anyaegbu in a striking pink outfit that quickly became a talking point among guests and social media users.

Known for his fearless approach to fashion, Charly Boy arrived at the event wearing a pink pleated skirt paired with a matching blazer. He completed the look with black boots, a black hat and a distinctive black-and-silver necklace carrying his popular nickname, “Fada.”

The veteran entertainer confidently posed for photographs on the black carpet, showing off the outfit without appearing concerned about the attention it generated.

Charly Boy, also popularly called the Area Fada, has built a reputation over the years for challenging conventional ideas about fashion and personal expression.

His latest appearance is consistent with a style he has maintained for decades. He has previously spoken about experimenting with unconventional and feminine-inspired outfits during the 1980s and 1990s, a period when his appearance often generated public discussion.

In a 2024 interview, Charly Boy described his fashion identity as being different from simply following trends. He has also expressed a preference for affordable, locally made clothing rather than spending heavily on foreign designer brands.

For the entertainer, fashion has remained an important part of his public identity and a way of expressing his individuality.

His pink ensemble at Anyaegbu’s birthday celebration has once again shown that Charly Boy remains comfortable pushing boundaries and choosing outfits that reflect his personality rather than following traditional fashion expectations.
