Team Gambia’s swimming duo poised for Commonwealth Games challenge

Glasgow Scotland, July 23, 2026 – Team Gambia’s swimming contingent is set to take to the pool at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, with Ousman Jobe and Pap D. Jonga proudly representing The Gambia in three events at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre.

The experienced duo will compete in the 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle, and 50m Butterfly between 25 and 28 July 2026, as they aim to deliver strong performances and achieve new personal bests on the Commonwealth stage.

Both swimmers have represented The Gambia at major international competitions and continue to serve as role models for the country’s emerging generation of athletes.

Team Gambia Swimming Schedule

Venue: Tollcross International Swimming Centre, Glasgow
Time: 10:30 a.m. onwards

50m Freestyle – Saturday, 25 July 2026
100m Freestyle – Monday, 27 July 2026
50m Butterfly – Tuesday, 28 July 2026

Both Jobe and Jonga will compete in all three events as they proudly carry the Gambian flag in Glasgow.

Ahead of the Games, their coach Raoul Sambou expressed confidence in the swimmers’ preparation and praised their commitment to representing the nation with pride and determination.
