Banjul The Gambia, July 16, 2026 – The Gambia National Olympic Committee has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting quality sports journalism by fully sponsoring two Gambian journalists to cover the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.
The selected journalists are Momodou Gajaga of QTV and Essa Jallow of GRTS, who will provide comprehensive coverage of Team Gambia’s participation throughout the Games.
The support comes after Momodou Gajaga and Essa Jallow emerged as the only two Gambian journalists accredited by Commonwealth Sport to cover the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
The initiative reflects GNOC’s recognition of the vital role the media plays in promoting sports, celebrating athletes’ achievements, and keeping Gambians informed about Team Gambia’s journey on the international stage.
Through this support, GNOC aims to enhance the visibility of Gambian athletes, strengthen public engagement, and ensure the nation’s participation at the Commonwealth Games receives extensive, professional, and impactful media coverage.
