Gunmen attacked Rim Village in Plateau State’s Riyom Local Government Area on Tuesday night, killing two people and injuring two others. The attackers, who opened fire sporadically around 10:30 pm, fled into the surrounding bushes after the incident.
Rwang Tengwong, National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Movement, confirmed the attack, describing it as another sad episode in the recurring insecurity plaguing parts of Riyom and other communities in Plateau State. He called on security operatives to intensify patrols and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The injured victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Efforts to reach the Plateau Police command spokesman, SP Alfred Alabo, for comments were unsuccessful.
