Reports of an injury to Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, during the country’s war with Israel and the United States have been dismissed by the son of the Iranian president. Yousef Pezeshkian, who is also a government adviser, stated that Khamenei is “safe and sound” despite claims of an injury.
Pezeshkian made the statement on his Telegram channel, saying he had checked with friends who had connections and confirmed that Khamenei was unharmed. Earlier, state television had referred to Khamenei as a “wounded veteran of the Ramadan war” but did not specify the nature of his injury.
The reports of Khamenei’s injury come amid heightened tensions between Iran and its adversaries, including Israel and the United States. The situation remains fluid, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
