The Deputy Speaker of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon. Kabiru Ibrahim, has appealed for the establishment of a permanent military base in Mallammawar Yari community, Kware Local Government Area, to curb the rising bandit attacks in the region. The community, which shares a boundary with Rabah Local Government Area, has been plagued by banditry, with residents living in fear.

Ibrahim emphasized that a military presence would strengthen security operations, protect lives and property, and serve as a deterrent to further attacks. He commended the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for their efforts in tackling banditry but stressed the need for additional security infrastructure to consolidate progress.

The lawmaker urged the Federal Government and military authorities to consider the request, appealing to residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to track criminal elements. Residents of Mallammawar Yari and neighboring communities hope that a stronger security presence would bring lasting peace to the area.
