Nigeria: Simi, family owe me an apology – Samklef

By Zuleihat Owuiye, Mamos Nigeria

Nigerian music producer Samklef is demanding an apology from singer Simi and her family, claiming he played a foundational role in her early career. In a tweet, Samklef accused Simi of ingratitude, saying, “We live in a world where we encourage people to be ungrateful. There is a price you pay when you do evil to an orphan, especially when that person sowed a seed in your early life. Whatever Simi is today, I am part of her foundation. And the family owes me a big apology”.

This comes as Simi faces renewed backlash on social media after speaking out against rape culture amid allegations involving Mirabel. The controversy has sparked debates and criticism, with users digging up old tweets and comments made by Simi.

Samklef’s remarks are not new, as he had previously apologized to Simi in 2021 after a similar outburst. It seems the issue remains unresolved, with Samklef reiterating his claims.
