Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has visited the main market in Onitsha, commending traders for taking back their day and resuming business despite the Monday sit-at-home imposed by separatist groups in 2021.

Soludo toured various trading zones, including Ose Market, Bright Street, Lagos Line, and Emeka Offor Plaza, interacting with traders and reassuring them that the fear previously used to enforce the shutdown has faded.

“Ndi Anambra are taking back their day, their economy, and their future,” Soludo told the gathering of traders, signaling that the state is open for business.

The visit marks a symbolic and practical end to the Monday sit-at-home, which had hampered the South-East economy since 2021. Soludo’s visit aims to boost economic activities and encourage traders to continue doing business without fear.
