Terrorists have demanded a ransom of N250 million and 20 motorcycles for the release of about 177 worshippers abducted in Kajuru, Kaduna State. The Village Head of Kurmin Wali, Ishaku Dan’azumi, revealed this, saying the demand was made after the terrorists accused the community of stealing 17 motorcycles lost during military operations.
The abduction occurred on January 28 2026, during church services at Cherubim and Seraphim Church 1 and 2, and Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA). Over 100 worshippers are still being held captive, sparking concerns among residents and religious leaders.
In a separate incident, terrorists in Ekiti State demanded N100 million for the release of a pregnant woman, a nursing mother, and three others abducted from Erinmope-Ekiti.
The head of the affected family, Muhammad Okanlawon, appealed to the government for help.
