Security operatives in Jigawa State have made a major breakthrough in their fight against crime, arresting 17 suspects linked to robbery, drug dealing, vandalism, and other criminal activities. The arrests followed a series of coordinated operations carried out across several communities, leading to the recovery of firearms, illicit drugs, cash, mobile phones, and other items believed to be stolen.
In Dutse, two suspects were picked up after an alleged robbery, with cash, phones, and weapons recovered, while another suspect was arrested in Malam Madori in connection with a separate robbery case.
The operations also uncovered acts of vandalism, including the theft of copper wires from a power transformer. In other areas such as Kirikasamma, Kaugama, Gumel, Sara, and Hadejia, additional suspects were arrested during raids that yielded locally made firearms, narcotics, and other exhibits.
Police authorities said investigations are ongoing and that all suspects in custody will be charged in court once inquiries are completed. Efforts are also underway to track down other suspects who managed to escape. Residents have been encouraged to continue supporting security agencies by sharing timely and reliable information, as the police reaffirmed their commitment to keeping Jigawa communities safe and secure.
